Help Support a Single Mom with Breast Cancer

Donation protected
One summer day in 2011, Ana-Lisa gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Aurora Faye.

Aurora at 6 weeks old.

When Aurora was little, Ana-Lisa noticed she had a bit of a lump in her breast.  But as a busy working mom, it was hard to find the time to go get it checked out.

The lump was biopsied in 2014, and Ana-Lisa was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.  The illness was in both breasts, many lymph nodes and the bones in her spine and femur.

Incredibly, Ana-Lisa held down full-time work AND looked after Aurora as a single mom through several major surgeries including a double mastectomy, lymphadenectomy, complete hysterectomy and reconstructive surgery. Although she would never be cancer free because of the bone metastases, Ana-Lisa responded well to treatment and the cancer was curtailed.

Ana-Lisa lived with near constant back pain and fatigue, but she's always been crazy tough.  She was doing well: She was head-hunted for a new job  and even bought her first home in 2018! Then that same year, Ana-Lisa began to experience frequent bouts of nausea and pain on her right side.  She was losing a lot of weight, and subsequent scans showed that her cancer had spread to her liver.

Now Ana-Lisa is nearly finished with an exhaustive 6 months of chemotherapy and preparing to start hormone therapy to keep the cancer at bay.  She worked full time and cared for Aurora through all of this!

Wonder Woman! Ana-Lisa after losing her hair from chemotherapy.

Ana-Lisa has never wanted to seek out charitable support.  She has been SO STRONG through challenge after challenge.  But this has been a really hard year for managing her illness, and to top it off, Ana-Lisa recently lost her job (through no fault of her own).  Now she and Aurora really need your help to get through this rough patch and get back on their feet.

Any support you may be able to provide would make a huge difference to this amazing woman.  Ana-Lisa is struggling with frequent nausea and weight-loss, and she needs a fews months to rest and recuperate.  But the bills still need paid!  All money donated will go directly toward keeping the lights on and the fridge stocked.  Every little bit helps! Thanks so much for your generous support.
