Support a surrogate's family in a time of need
On July 18th, an amazing person and surrogate, Lydia, passed away during childbirth. Lydia was a mother or caregiver to 6 children with her husband, and leaves behind an extended family and community devastated by her loss.
Lydia had dreamed of being a surrogate - and described it as a truly special undertaking for her. She was unbelievably excited to help her intended parents with their journey to parenthood.
As a teacher for 9 years before transitioning to a stay-at-home role, Lydia was an inspiring person - caring, independent, mature, and connected to her family and intended parents. She deeply cared about their well-being and was thrilled to be a part of their journey. She will always be remembered by all those that have spent time with her, and by the families she has touched.
Funds from this campaign will go directly to the family, to help support them in their time of utmost need and we have been given their permission to set this up and share our gratitude for Lydia. It is hoped now that they will feel the love and support of the greater surrogacy community and beyond as they face this unimaginable loss.
