Michael S. Hinson, Jr. has one of the largest story arcs that you'll ever encounter. He was prolific in his community service work. His trajectory ranged from combating homelessness to HIV/AIDS education/prevention work and so much more. In this tribute issue of COLOURS MAGAZINE, we will explore aspects of his artistry, spiritual leadership and even his love for cooking and dancing. We have “love letters “ from the community at large expressing their loss and love for this unique man that loved and fought hard for others.
The mission of this tribute issue is to amplify the memory and legacy of Michael S. Hinson, Jr. Considering the current state of the country and the world, this magazine can serve as a tool to teach unity, create peace, and simply have something tangible in his honor. We want to encourage and empower the LGBTQIA-plus youth that there was someone who did a deep dive into issues that affect us all. We want to highlight his political stance, his work, and his love of being a Yoruba priest and father to many. His love of family and his undying belief that all mankind should be treated equally.
There will be a digital and physical version of the tribute.
