Support a Veteran Dad and His Kids in Crisis

My grandfather passed away from a heart attack at 79, and my father (his son) Wendell, was the only person in our entire family to step up and pay for all of the funeral services, grave plot, casket, and much more because we come from a poor southern family in Louisiana.

Shortly after my Pappaw’s death, that following year, my own father tragically and unexpectedly died of a heart attack in January 2019 at the age of 58. I still owe a total of $8000 for his final funeral services. The monthly payments are just killing me. On top of all of that, my student loan debt from the federal government is demanding payments of $707 monthly beginning in January 2025. I can’t get them deferred any longer, and being a single father of a 15-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son is getting me on the verge of going financially bankrupt.

I served in the US Army as an Airborne Ranger and went on two combat tours OEF and have been diagnosed with 100% permanent and total PTSD. The children’s mother left and fled to Mexico. I have hardly anything left in the house except for my children’s things, and I am just simply trying to find any way to get some blessings for my children, not me. I need funding to help pay for two funerals now (both had zero life insurance) and now I’m trying to help them when my wife left me and took almost everything I own. At least I still have my kids, thank the good Lord. My father thought he had life insurance, but it was just accidental insurance and not term…ugh!

Anyway, I’m a single dad, veteran, and hard worker from Louisiana. My children and I are looking for any help we can get. Thank you for your time, consideration, and support!
