Support a Volleyball Family in Crisis

My name is Odette Fung. I am volleyball parent and part of a strong volleyball community in the Capital District. A family in my son’s club volleyball team is amid a parent’s worst nightmare. During an out-of-state volleyball tournament last weekend, their child had a cardiac incident. He is currently in critical condition in a hospital near the tournament location.

Following the family’s wishes, I will not share names of the family or the child. What I will share is that this family is a loving, hardworking family. Their children all have a love for volleyball. I know that if another family were in a similar situation, they would be one of the first to find out how they can help.

There are many families that have asked how to help, want to help, even families outside of the volleyball team. If you are a volleyball parent, a volleyball player, or just a person who wants to help this family, I am asking for your generosity. All funds raised will go directly to the family to support them in whatever way they need, whether its for medical bills, temporary housing while they are there to support their child, food, clothing, necessities. I am hoping to raise enough funds so that they can worry less about how they need to survive financially, and to give them the mental space to stay focused on helping their son, and each other during this incredibly challenging time.

Please know that the family has been incredibly grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers and have been overwhelmed with everyone's desire to help.

For full transparency, the family chose to maintain their privacy and does not want to reveal their name by being listed as a beneficiary for this fundraiser. They requested that the funds be deposited to me directly into my personal account. With that, I plan to withdraw all of the funds into my personal account on behalf of the family and I will ensure that they receive every donation all of you have made.
