Support a Young Family Torn Apart by ICE
Donation protected
My name is Peyton Harsono, and I’m sharing our family’s story with a heavy heart. My husband, Aditya Harsono, was detained on March 27th by ICE in Marshall, Minnesota, just days after his student visa was suddenly revoked without warning. Since then, our lives have been turned upside down.
Aditya is not just a student visa holder—he’s a husband, a father, and a vital part of our family. We have an 8-month-old daughter who needs her dad. Every day she looks around for him. This has been deeply traumatic for all of us, especially her.
While in detention my husband was terminated. As a mother, I am struggling to provide for her while enduring this overwhelming emotional and financial burden on my own. We are in danger of losing our apartment, no longer have health insurance, along with other bills and necessities that are needed when caring for a baby.
The trauma of this separation is unbearable, not just for me and our child but for my husband as well. He is experiencing severe emotional distress, and our family unit is suffering beyond measure. I am being torn apart living through this and watching my daughter, husband, and I be in so much emotional pain. The three of us have never been apart, and these circumstances are enough to bring anyone to their knees.
Aditya’s student visa revocation was based on a misdemeanor conviction from 2022, along with being arrested for a curfew violation during the George Floyd protest. We fear his political activism played a role in targeting him. That case, in which he was arrested for unlawful assembly, was later dismissed “in the interest of justice.”
He was granted bond by an immigration judge, which gave us a brief moment of hope—but that relief was short-lived. The Department of Homeland Security is now challenging the bond, making it even harder for us to bring him home. We are in the middle of adjusting his immigration status. He remains in ICE custody—separated from his family, his baby girl, and his life here.
We are asking for your support—If you are able to contribute in any way, it would mean the world to us. More than anything, we want Aditya home where he belongs—with his family.
Thank you for standing with us.
