I’m rallying behind my son, a determined 23 year-old from the scenic landscapes of Scotland, who is striving to turn our family’s croft into a thriving business, despite facing significant challenges. Let me introduce you to Ciaran.

Ciaran is a young man with a heart as big as the Scottish Highlands, and he’s on a mission to transform our family’s croft into a sustainable business. With the recent passing of my mum/ his gran and looking after myself after becoming disabled, Ciaran has taken on the responsibility of caring for his grandad now my mum has gone and managing the daily operations of the croft. This business is also going to enable me to get back to work as the machine he is hoping to buy is controlled by a joy stick so the amputation of my leg will not be an issue.

He dreams of diversifying the farm into a more sustainable business, building a wood processing business, utilizing the natural resources abundant in the area. With his hard working mindset and his determination to succeed, Ciaran envisions not just a livelihood for himself, but a legacy for our family and thus enabling the farm to continue to stay in the family as it has done for many generations.

However, Ciarans vision faces a critical obstacle – the lack of essential equipment. To bring his dream to life, Ciaran needs a wood processing machine. This vital tool will enable him to efficiently process timber, turning raw materials into valuable products, and fueling the growth of his budding enterprise.
