Support Abel's Journey to Health and Happiness

This was not easy for Abel‘s mom to do, but she has come to recognize, this is about Abel and his future, nothing else. Abel has endured more pain, abuse, and trauma than any dog should ever be subjected to. He was born with a neurological disorder (cerebellar hypoplasia) while in the care of absolute monsters in horrific conditions. 

His current rapid decline in mobility (which seems to be another condition not yet identified) has lead to astronomical medical bills, Abel needs your help to continue on this battle. 

Your support and donations will all go directly to Abel’s medical bills so he can continue to fight another day. And though Abel’s mom has pet insurance - they have rejected claim after claim because they are associating many of these medical costs with his cerebellar hypoplasia (which they consider a pre-existing condition). 

As the medical bills continue to rise, Abel’s mom refuses to give up on him. But she has come to the realization that she needs to reach out for help in order to keep this process going. 

Abel was originally intended to be a foster. After several months of fostering, this ultimately ended as a foster fail. 

Abel’s story: 

Cerebellar hypoplasia is a neurological disorder where the cerebellum is under-developed at birth. This is the part of the brain that controls movement. And this was not his only issue. Abel‘s odds were very much stacked against him before he was even born. His previous people had a meth house, it is clear that Abel was abused, and when the folks that had him previously, got raided by the police, they fed Abel a bunch of baggies of meth in attempts to hide it from the police. 

Thankfully, the police saw it happen and they were able to get Abel to the vet fast enough, and he passed all of the baggies intact while under monitoring of the veterinarian. However, there is no telling the amount of chemical exposure Abel had, given they were cooking meth in the house as well. 

This was not the end of Abel’s Road. He was then held as evidence in part of the court case against his previous people until the rescue was granted permission to give him a new beginning. 

Needless to say, Abel is one of the strongest and most tenacious little boys that this world has ever had the pleasure of meeting. 

Fast-forward through the foster fail, and Abel‘s mom has recently noticed a rapid decline in his rear mobility. Cerebellar hypoplasia is not normally degenerative in nature. So after ending up in emergency and urgent care several times, the neurologist advised to send out his blood work to identify if he has the genetic marker for cerebellar abiotrophy. This is a different neurological disorder that is degenerative and ultimately fatal. Thankfully, the genetic marker test came back negative. 

So now we head to MRI, X-Ray, Spinal tap, and several other diagnostic tests to rule out various infections and other potentially fatal diseases. 

Abel has given his mom an entirely new perspective on life and has taught her so much. Please help her continue to fight for this very special little man. 

Abel and his mom have so many adventures to go on and no matter what future tests indicate - they will continue to fight together. 

 Please help this very sweet boy that deserves nothing shy of the most fulfilling life the world has to offer him!
