Support Abigail Tejada's Fight Against Juvenile ALS
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My family has recently been struck with devastating news about one of our younger family members. Abigail Tejada, 11 years old, has recently been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
A little more about her story: Abigail was like every other kid a few months back, doing TikTok dances, riding her bike, and playing outside. Then she started to show minor symptoms by tripping every so often, which no one thought too much of. As time passed, her symptoms quickly progressed, causing her to slowly lose the function of her legs and arms, having to use a wheelchair, and heavily relying on her mother to help her move around. She then underwent many tests as her condition got worse at Boston Children's Hospital, where they initally determined that she may have Gillian-barre syndrome. Then ran more test to confirm their final diagnosis which was ALS-FUS.
ALS-FUS is a nervous system disease that causes loss of muscle function in muscles that control one's ability to move, speak, eat and breathe. As you can imagine, our family is completely destroyed by this news, and are seeking all the support we can receive. Wendy, Abigail's mother, who has been there throughout it all has been struck the hardest by this news, and needs all the support she can get for caring for Abigail and her two younger brothers at home.
I'm reaching out on here to seek funds that will go into supporting her family during this difficult time. Anything you are able to donate is greatly appreciated. We also ask that you please keep Abigail in your prayers during this hard time.
