Support Adora's Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
This is Adora L. Davis-Monroe, but I knew her as Grandma Doe while her family called her Sissy. She was a daughter, sister to four brothers, mother to two children, and grandmother to three grandchildren. She was ever a contradiction; stubborn, and hardheaded while also being the most selfless and kind-hearted person you could ever meet, giving of herself fully, asking nothing in return. She loved horror movies and enjoyed educating us on all the older horror films, so it is fitting that the lord called her home on Friday the 13th, during a full moon and a meteor shower. Our grief at her passing is lessened knowing she suffers no more and is reunited with her loved ones in heaven. Her grandkids will always remember her as the "Crazy Old Woman" which makes my heart happy knowing her one wish came true, never letting anyone see her struggles but only as the strong woman she truly was. Although her 2 kids, Alex and Richard lived two states away she never let it come between them, her constant texts and calls checking in on us are something we will miss tremendously.

Another challenge we are facing as a family in addition to the funeral expenses is also the travel expenses. My grandmother lived in western Kentucky, this means my mother has to drive 14 hours one way in order to sort through a lifetime of belongings, pack up everything that is important, and bring it all back in a Uhaul. All of this has to be done this week, during the extremely daunting task of planing the funeral. Any donation, no matter how small, would lessen this burden, and ease some of the emotional stress she is going through. A heavy enough weight has been placed on us just knowing we will never see her or hear her voice one last time.

We are truly hoping for a Christmas miracle, But most importantly remember to cherish the time you have with your family, you never know when it will be the last " Hey just checking in" call or text, so give them a hug or a call, and always remember life is short make the best of it. That Is what Grandma Doe would want us all to learn from this.
