My name is Jaymee, and I am the proud parent of a beautiful, strong, and brave little girl named Aiyana Daniel. She is 3 years old—full of life, laughter, and love—and will be turning 4 in just a month. What was supposed to be a time of celebration and birthday planning has taken a heartbreaking turn.

We recently received news that no parent ever wants to hear: Aiyana has been diagnosed with leukemia.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of doctor visits, hospital stays, blood tests, and tears. Hearing the word “cancer” in connection with your child is earth-shattering. It’s a diagnosis that changes everything in an instant. But even in the face of this terrifying journey, Aiyana continues to smile, to sing, and to show us just how strong her little heart truly is.

We have a long road ahead—at least two years of intense treatment, including chemotherapy, regular hospital visits, and many days when Aiyana will not be able to play like other children her age. As we begin this battle, we are preparing ourselves emotionally, physically, and financially.
