Support AJ's Recovery After Heroic Rescue

11/14/24 Update: First graft surgery using cadaver donor skin was completed on Tuesday. His second surgery is scheduled for today (11/14/24) they will remove the donor skin and use his actual skin for the graft. For the first time since this happened, AJ was able to sleep and for that we are thankful. If the second skin graft surgery

goes well we can at some point start discussing him being released. Please continue to pray as each and everyone is appreciated! Thank you to everyone who supported this go fund me, it’s going to help AJ tremendously as we aren’t sure just yet when he will be able to return to work.

11/9/24 Update: We are so overwhelmed by the support that AJ has received! We are so very thankful! We should know more from the burn doctor next week on the next plan of action for AJ. Right now, it’s wound care daily and rest. We are in the same hospital with Walker and Jo’s family and have had the honor of getting to spend time with them while here. Thank you so very much to everyone who has helped!

On November 7, 2024 my son Anthony Slater (AJ) was coming home and drove up on a vehicle on fire. The father to the children who were trapped inside the vehicle was laying on the ground and unable to move and was shouting for AJ to get his kids that were inside the burning vehicle. AJ was able to rescue one child a precious 3 year old little boy named Walker but unfortunately he could not save his beautiful 5 year old sister Jo. In doing so AJ is badly burned. He is in the burn unit at Tampa General Hospital. He will have extensive medical treatment well after the burns have healed. He doesn’t have health insurance so we are hoping by doing this he will have some money to cover medical bills, living expenses, and therapy for the trauma he witnessed. I don’t think you can ever really get over experiencing something like this. Our heart is broken for the family who experienced such an unthinkable tragedy. We appreciate any support.
