Hello, my name is Alaa Hamdouna, and today, I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. My family and I, ten of us in total, are in dire need of your support to escape the turmoil and devastation in Gaza City and start afresh. The circumstances we are facing require solidarity and mutual aid, and with your generous contributions, we can build a hopeful and stable future.

Our current situation is unimaginable. I am a dedicated teacher, known both inside and outside of Gaza, who has worked tirelessly to support and uplift my family. My brother, an ambitious engineer, dreams of one day opening his own office. Over the past ten years, we have poured our hearts into our work and family, overcoming numerous challenges and obstacles. Despite the adversities, we were making progress and looking forward to a brighter future.

However, everything changed on October 7th. The war that erupted in Gaza turned our lives upside down. Our home, a place of safety and comfort, was reduced to rubble along with many others in our neighborhood. Forced to evacuate, we have been moving from one unsafe location to another in the northern part of Gaza, where nothing remains secure or humane.

Our lives have been stripped of even the most basic necessities. We now live in a simple tent, devoid of the fundamental elements of life. The impact of this upheaval is profound and heartbreaking:

Our tent offers no real protection against the harsh elements, and we live in constant fear for our safety.

We lack access to adequate food and clean water. I am unable to find artificial milk for my children, resulting in severe calcium deficiency.

My parents, who require regular medication, suffer greatly as we are unable to procure the necessary medicines.

Without stability, I cannot continue my work as a teacher, nor can my brother pursue his engineering career.

This situation is taking an immense toll on us, physically, emotionally, and mentally. The pain we have experienced over the years is something I never wanted my children to endure. Yet, here we are, facing starvation and malnutrition, with no clear way out.

Our goal is to raise 60,000 euros to cover the costs associated with obtaining permits and safely evacuating from Gaza to Egypt. The breakdown of this amount is crucial:

We need a minimum of 6,000 euros per person to secure the permits required to leave Gaza through Egypt. This totals 60,000 euros for our family of ten.
