At the beginning, I, Alaa, had a dream that I wanted to live and develop, and it would be a source of income for my future. I started building my future by putting all my ambitions and hopes into my beautiful center for pediatric physiotherapy, which deals with children suffering from bone and nerve health problems.
I started with a small center from scratch and the most basic assisting tools. I worked daily, even on official holidays, trying to complete what was left to reach my center's current status in the most luxurious and easily accessible central areas in Gaza, whether from the north, center, or south.
I struggled a lot at the beginning in its establishment, faced many difficulties and obstacles in licensing, renting the place, and competing in the market, but I managed to open it, and it became one of the most competitive centers from the beginning in all aspects such as management, manual work, equipment, and the most qualified and experienced specialists in the field of pediatric physiotherapy.
There have been many achievements and the graduation of children whose problem was walking delay or total movement. Some had paralysis, and others had tendon shortening that limited their movement and interaction with others.
Together, as a team, we all worked to bring smiles and joy to many parents who were worried and afraid for their children's future, and to break the stigma of labeling children as disabled, whether physically or mentally.
As an example of the cases we graduated, there was a girl named Wala who suffered from motor delay due to poor nutrition of the mother during pregnancy and premature birth, which affected her walking delay and fear of it. With our unique and adopted methods in pediatric physiotherapy, thank God and by His grace, she now walks very naturally without any noticeable deformity.
And so, many children have graduated from our center. In the last few months of the beautiful days of the center, before the war destroyed my center, my dream, and the dream of every child for treatment and walking, and the hope of making their children happy and their families safe.
The war came without warning, and while we were planning our future and a brighter reality, it turned into a bitter reality and destroyed my center and the dream of many children to be cured of their illness. It shattered the hopes of many parents who were hopeful, and for whom the healing of their children was only a matter of time.
With your generosity I can start again and help children to heal
