Support Alanna's Transition Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alanna. I am a 41 year old Transgender Woman. I started my journey towards transitioning on April 2022, and have finally reached a point in my transition that I would like to have surgery done. I came to this realization after having to meet with another Urologist for treatment of swelling. I remember laying on the table as the Ultrasound was performed, crying, really not wanting to be there at all. When all was said and done, I made the determination that surgery was the best option for me.
Just recently, I visited a Urologist who will perform a Bilateral Orchiectomy on my bottom half. The ultimate goal for this is to be able to remove the medication of Spironolactone from my transition regimen as the long-term effects would prove to be detrimental to my health. An Orchiectomy would help me by removing a major source of Testosterone in my body and allow me to worry less about my Testosterone testing.
The surgery is scheduled for June 19th, 2024.
I've spoken with my insurance company and the hospital performing the surgery, and the Cost of Services comes down to $2612.72. This is after the $500 Deductible and 80/20 Copay. This would be done as an Outpatient procedure over a few hours, and I would return home the next day, thus lowering my bill and costs.
I have done the basics on my finances and I am in a major shortfall of being able to afford this procedure. So I come to you asking for help. How ever much you can pitch in will help immensely.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
