Support Albert Dorsett's Final Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amanda Dorsett. Back in December 2023, our beloved father, Albert Dorsett, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. My dad started by going into the hospital because the doctors had originally thought my dad’s esophagus had caved in. They went in to do an endoscopy on what should have been a quick procedure and to our horror, the doctor dropped the bad news that they had found a mass in his esophagus. From the start, he faced the challenge with immense courage and strength. He fought hard for his family. Despite his valiant efforts and the support of his family, his health deteriorated rapidly.
Over the past few months, my dad has been in and out of the hospital, enduring numerous treatments, procedures, and unfortunately fighting more infections and problems piling on top of the cancer. We all didn’t expect this day to come; we thought we could get through it together with my dad’s will to fight. But last night, we faced the most heartbreaking decision to transition to palliative care, focusing on making him as comfortable as possible in his remaining hours. My dad had become very weak and ill and with very little the hospital could do, we knew it would be the right decision regardless of our want to keep him with us. It’s been an incredibly tough journey for all of us, witnessing his strength wane and his condition worsen.
We are reaching out to ask for your support during this difficult time. Any contributions will help cover medical expenses and provide comfort and support to our family as we navigate this final chapter. Your generosity and kindness is deeply appreciated. Thank you for being a part of Albert’s journey and for supporting us in this time of need.
