Support Albion Perez's Memorial Fund

Hello Everybody, I am starting this fundraiser for my loving baby brother, Albion Joseph Perez. He suffered from schizophrenia for most of his life. When he was only 15 years old, someone he knew and thought he could trust gave him a mixture of drugs that triggered his schizophrenia. Before that fateful day, he was a sweet boy, always helping his mom with anything, playing video games with his friends. In school, he always had straight A's; he was so smart. Albion was an uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. In fact, he was an uncle from the day he was born because his first niece was born before him. Albion came into this world a twin. He was the one who had to stay in the NICU while his twin went home. His lungs weren't fully developed, and he had jaundice. He was also much smaller than his 5-pound twin. He came home a few weeks later, healthy and beautiful, my little brother... smiles. Moving forward, he got really sick with a cold when he was around 3 or 4 months, causing him to have a high fever and go into convulsions. My dad and my sister's boyfriend gave him CPR and kept him alive until the ambulance arrived. I was little, but I remember I was so scared and panicked at the thought of losing my little brother. I'm so grateful that my family and I were blessed enough to have the time with him that we did, giving us the opportunity to share the many precious memories we have shared with Albion. Those will sure last a lifetime and give us the strength we will need in the days to come.

Moving forward, Albion recently was admitted to the ER and was told he had a hiatal hernia and esophagitis. He was given some meds and a referral to see a doctor. But due to his severe schizophrenia, he believed that people around him were trying to poison him, so he wouldn't take his pills unless it was on a good day for him. He rarely had good days; he would just yell all the time. So the other night, when all of us heard him yelling, we thought he was just having another episode. But when we woke up in the early morning, we found him dead in his bed. He was cold. My mother screamed for me and then for him, asking, 'Please don't go, Albion...'

The loss of Albion has left a huge hole in our hearts forever, and we are reaching out to the community for help in covering the cost of the funeral and other expenses.
