Support Alex in his recovery after a road accident

This page has been set up by friends of Alex Borwick to raise funds to help in his recovery from being hit by a truck in Dublin. This terrible accident happened the day after his first baby was born.

Alex is a musician, producer and sound engineer from New Zealand, who has lived and worked in Ireland for over 13 years. His amazing talent and warm, open-minded personality has endeared him to many. Up to now he’s been one of the busiest, hardest working people in the music business in Ireland.

On Monday 24th of February, Alex and his partner Sarah’s baby boy – Milo - was born in the Coombe hospital, Dublin. The next day, as Alex was cycling back to the hospital to see Sarah and Milo, he was run over by a truck. The truck hadn’t seen him and Alex is lucky to be alive. His pelvis sustained multiple fractures, his left foot was badly damaged, and he suffered severe skin abrasions.

This accident has turned Alex and Sarah’s lives upside down. He has needed multiple surgeries and hasn’t even been able to see baby Milo during the first three weeks of his life. It is hoped that Alex will make a full recovery, however it’s early days and his injuries are severe. It will be some time before he’ll be able to return to work and make a living.

This Gofundme page has been set up so people can show their support for Alex and his family and help them get through this difficult period. All contributions will go directly to the family to help with loss of income, medical and rehabilitation costs, plus equipment he will need to regain mobility.
