Hello! My name is Alexa Brabec. I am a Nordic Combined skier on the US Women’s National Team. Born and raised in Steamboat Springs, CO, I love all things snow and skiing, but my true passion is Nordic Combined. In 2023 I graduated from Steamboat Springs High School and decided to continue my career in Nordic Combined full-time and compete at the highest level. With our US National Team partnering with the Norwegian Team, I moved to Lillehammer, Norway just a couple of months after graduating and spent my winter season of 23/24 competing on the World Cup circuit in Europe.

I have had a fantastic season this past year achieving not only personal bests but also milestones for the sport of Women's Nordic Combined in the US. I finished the season ranked 21st in the overall world ranking and secured multiple top 15 finishes and one top 10 finish in the World Cup. I also was the first woman to ever stand on the podium at the Junior World Ski Championships for the US in nordic combined and I did it not once, but twice, earning a silver medal in both the Individual Gunderson and the Team Sprint with my teammate Kai Mckinnon.

As a part of the US national team, I have been able to work with fantastic coaches this last year who have helped me achieve these great results. I have my sights set on even higher for this next season and can’t wait to get back out there! However, our team recently lost all support from our previous organization so while we are working to build a new nordic combined organization, we will have to cover almost all expenses ourselves as athletes. Below is a breakdown of some of my expenses from last season which gives a pretty good idea of what my expenses will look like this next season along with additional expenses for coaching and waxing that was previously provided by our governing organization.
