Support Alexis Castillo's Medical Journey

Hi friends and family,

A hard thing for my family to do is ask for help but we are asking for your help now. My niece Alexis Castillo, is currently facing a serious medical challenge. Due to, well to be honest at this point it is a medical mystery, she requires blood transfusions and ongoing medical care that is unfortunately beyond our financial means.

This has been her journey so far, Alexis had 3 hospital stays earlier this year because she was severely anemic without any explanation as to why. Since then, she has had 2 Hematologists, a Rheumatologist, a Neurologist, 2 Gynecologists, 2 PCPs, 28 and counting blood transfusions, 2 bone marrow biopsies, a liver biopsy, a colonoscopy, an EGD, and several blood tests and she still has no answers. The only thing they have found with all the blood tests is her body is retaining copper which could be fatal if not treated, the medication alone costs $1000+. She is now being sent to yet another hospital to find answers as the doctor at the current hospital has told her there is nothing else she can do for her test wise. Alexis has worked so hard to achieve her dream of being a teacher and had that dream in her sights until 6 months ago when she started having this medical issue. With her current energy level, she is able to substitute teach maybe 1 to 2 times a week but that is not enough to pay for all the medical bills that are piling up. This is why we are reaching out now and every donation will go directly towards covering the costs of these transfusions and associated medical expenses. Your support will not only provide critical care but also offer Alexis the strength and hope to continue fighting.
