Support Alex's Family Through This Difficult Time

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share news of the tragic death of our youngest son, Alex (Alexei) Hawblitzel, on September 13th. His unexpected death has left us all shattered and grieving. Alex is survived by his beloved wife, Chaquita, and his two children Nick (6) and Koko (4).

Alex’s sudden passing leaves the family unprepared to bear the financial costs that come with such a loss. Alex was the primary breadwinner of the family and, at age 26, Alex had not worked the 10 years (40 quarters) necessary to qualify for federal survivor benefits for his children. The consequences of his death are profound and devastating for his family and there is substantial financial need as his wife and children navigate this unimaginable loss.

Many of our friends have reached out to us asking how they could contribute to help Alex’s family, who have an immediate need to pay funeral costs, and aiding with rental and living expenses as they adjust to their new life. They will also have ongoing needs as Chaquita balances working with caring for their young children. Family members are stepping in, but the needs are great. Any contribution will make a significant difference.
