Early Christmas Eve morning Alex was rushed to the ER near his home in Vernal, struggling to breathe. What started as a manageable concern quickly turned critical.
He was diagnosed with septic shock caused by a bacterial infection that entered his bloodstream causing organ failure and dangerously low blood pressure. He was immediately transported to the Utah Valley Hospital for advanced care where he was put on life support.

The outlook was grim.
In the days since, Alex has endured more than anyone should have to. He's been on a ventilator, was placed on dialysis, had a heart pump installed and later removed, had nearly two liters of fluid drained from his lungs, and has been on an intense regimen of blood pressure medication and antibiotics. Despite all of this, Alex continues to fight, and doctors are beginning to see signs that offer us hope.
Due to poor circulation caused by the massive amounts of blood pressure medications and Alex’s overall condition, Alex will need to have one of his legs amputated once he is strong enough to endure the surgery.
While Alex battles for his life, his family is battling an immense emotional, physical, and financial burden. His two young sons, Jameson (6) and Jack (2) are scared, miss their dad, and were heartbroken to spend Christmas without him. They are holding on to the hope that Alex will be able to return home.

This unexpected nightmare has left Alex and his family facing mounting medical expenses. If you are able, any contribution to help ease the financial burden would mean the world to the family. Your generosity will support medical bills, rehabilitation, and other critical needs as Alex works toward recovery.
Thank you for standing by Alex and his family during this challenging time. Every donation, share, and kind word make a difference. Let’s rally together to show Alex that he’s not fighting alone.
