Help Support Alex's Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday June 11th, Alex was biking from Philadelphia to Atlantic City with his friend Glenn and hundreds of others to raise money for the American Cancer Society. During the charity bikeathon, Alex experienced multiple cardiac arrests caused by a heart attack. Fortunately, he received CPR and shocks to his heart right away, which ultimately saved his life. Once at the hospital, he was placed on life support and several other life saving procedures were provided to him. Several weeks later, he is still in the ICU, and has a long road to recovery ahead. So far he has beaten all of the odds (it is a miracle that he survived), but he is still critically sick and will need months of medical care in the hospital and then rehab facilities.
Alex is a compassionate husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is selfless, caring, loving, and generous. Alex always goes out of his way to help others and now is our chance to help him.
Many friends, family, and coworkers have reached out asking for ways to help. This fund has been created to allow people to show support for Alex and his family as he will require many months away from work, and his medical bills will be significant.
On behalf of Alex and his wife Ruth, thanks to everyone who has reached out and for continuing to keep him in your prayers. We appreciate all of the positive thoughts and concern shown by so many. The amount of love shown has been overwhelming.
