Support Ali Jendia's Family in Crisis
Donation protected
I am Erin/Razz, an American citizen living on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of Ali Jendia and his family. Ali requested I make this fundraiser to help his family of nine people since previous attempts to raise funding have gone very slowly due to confusion over currency conversion rates. The other fundraiser to help his family can be found here and is in Swedish Krona. I have been in correspondence with Ali for several months to help and support his family since they are experiencing extreme hardship.
Ali Jendia and his family had their lives ravaged by the conflict in Gaza, their home and livelihood destroyed so that the family had to take shelter in a tent, and Ali's son Yazan suffered an injury in his leg and foot due to shrapnel. Ali's wife Manar Subhi Jendeya/Jendia has kidney problems and needs treatment. Ali is desperate to find adequate medical care to help his son and wife and protect his family, and currently the main method of getting help is to fund-raise to afford the exorbitant price of necessities within the area due to aid not being allowed in, and raise enough funds to afford the exorbitant fees to exit Gaza through the crossing to Egypt. To my knowledge it costs about $5,000 for transport of one person through the crossing into Egypt via the Hala Company, and so I have set the current goal to be $50,000 to account for the cost of nine people and hopefully cover the cost of some necessities.
I include some of what Ali has shared with me below, to show the urgency of their situation.
"My wife, Manar, has been suffering from kidney failure since 2015 and needs continuous treatment. Every year, she used to go outside Gaza for medical care, and she requires constant attention. You know we live in a tent, surrounded by unlivable conditions – polluted water, insects, bitter cold, and extreme heat. She needs clean, uncontaminated mineral water. I buy many medicines for her, and we are in urgent need of financial support."
"I write to you with a heavy heart, not seeking financial support, but simply to share my voice, my family's voice, and our daily struggles. We are living in challenging conditions in a tent, where my wife, Manar, cannot find the comfort she needs for her kidney treatment. My children, Muhammad and Haneen, could not complete their education because of the war. My young son, Yazan, has been severely injured by explosions that shattered his safety and childhood."
"All I ask is that you remember us, ask about our well-being, even if with just a few simple words that let us know we are not alone and that there are those who feel for us. Just shedding light on our suffering would be enough to ease this heavy burden and give us hope that kindness still exists.
"May these words reach those with compassionate hearts who will remember us and keep us in their prayers. This gesture alone would be enough for me."

I have been doing what I can to help Ali and his family, and we realized it was not enough. Donations trickled in due to so many people being hesitant to donate using a currency they are not familiar with. This fundraiser I have made is so that people recognize the currency and are more likely to donate.
I offer an art incentive for those who donate to the fundraisers I organize and share. If you donate to this fundraiser and want to get an art request from me, share proof of your donation (such as a receipt with any sensitive information blacked out) either via my tumblr messages or leave a donation note when you donate, which I can respond to via email.
An example of my artwork includes the family portrait I've drawn of Ali and his family below, which I have shared previously on my social media to help share and support his family.
I hope you consider helping this family, and sharing their story so that they will not be forgotten. If there is overlap with the photos and words I have shared, it is because Ali's family has another fundraiser that I shared above. I will collect the money and transfer it to him at certain milestones (such as at every $1000) via either paypal or international transfer to his bank routing information. I hope I can succeed in getting this family to a better situation.
