Support Alisa Starr's Uterus Yoink

My name is Alisa Starr. I make Snarky Cards: Brutally Honest Greeting Cards. I sell them in bars from a box that hangs beneath my boobs. I live and work in Seattle. I've been making Greeting Cards about relationships for 15 yrs. I've helped people get together, break up, have kids, find new people and comemorate best friendship.

I love being part of the Seattle Art Community. I love writing other people's stories down. I love showing people my art night in and out.

This year, my Vagina Volcanoed. It scared me. I went to the E.R.

The (very nice) Dr's told me that they were glad I came in. Because I could bleed to death from my Vagina, while we're all waiting for it to tire itself out.

I'm 45.

At that time in life where my body is pulling all of the eggs from the back of my fridge and dropping them outta my Vag like an epileptic baker.

We tried some birth controll, but it messed with my bi-polar disorder.

So, I'm getting my whole Uterus out. I'm excited. I've always wanted to be infertile!!!

But!! It means I can't work for January. And February. The recovery time is 4-6 weeks.

So, I need your help if I'm going to stay housed, and feed myself and the cats while I recover.

I'm very nervous about this Uterus Yoink. I've never planned to be disabled. This month and a half I'm taking off to recover terrifies me. Apparently, my body needs that time to get used to missing a whole fucking organ.
