Support Alison Hart's Caregiving Journey

Alison Hart (aka Jennifer Greene and Jeanne Grant), a much loved romance writer, has struggled to care for her husband Larry for 15 years after Larry's Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Because of her selfless home care, Larry has done much better than expected, but Alison suffered a traumatic injury when a truck ran a stop sign and broadsided the car she was driving. As she struggled to recover, she could no longer keep Larry safe all hours of the day and night. Novelists are self-employed and responsible for their own retirement and insurance plans. Alison and Larry had saved diligently year after year, but the memory care facility where he eventually had to go depleted most of their savings. Now Larry has to come home and Alison needs help with respite care as she once again cares for him alone without family nearby. Help from other sources is unlikely, especially with cuts in Medicaid.
