Support Allen During His 2nd Cancer Surgery

Donation protected
UPDATE 12/21/2023:

Thank you for reading! Chemo and radiation have ended, and done a number on my neck and throat. Eating is still limited, and still no taste. Waiting to begin rounds of immunotherapy, possibly starting next week, and dealing with a MRSA infection around the feeding tube still in place. Working at this time is still off limits, and pay has been reduced further for disability. Meds and liquid protein shakes make up a great deal of the ongoing expenses. Luckily, this has been an expensive year so doctor copays are zero right now. A new plan year starts up in less than two weeks, so everything will start over with copays. The immunotherapy shots alone are $20,000 each. Not sure yet what insurance will cover.

If anyone is interested in contributing to my fundraiser, it would be greatly appreciated. You can use the link below.

If you have already contributed, thank you so much! To continue helping, it would be great if you would share this post and link with your Facebook groups and friends, along with a kind word about me. I know, everyone loves me, and the feeling is mutual. :-)

As the holidays are upon us, I want to wish you the best season ever, and thank you all again for your support!

Hello, I'm Allen Hampton. I work as a RN in the ICU. I've just been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck. Last year I had surgery for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue where they removed a large portion of my tongue and lymph node from my neck, and the doctor thought is was all gone. This year it's back and in a different area. I will need another, more extensive surgery, with the possibility of losing my tongue, having it reconstructed with muscle from my arm. I may also require an artificial airway and feeding tube. I will also need Chemotherapy and Radiation. The doctors estimate I could be out of work for 5-7 months if I'm able to return at all. The funds will assist with medical bills and living expenses after my disability runs out. I hate having to ask for help in this way but I may not have an income at the end of treatment. Being sick should not force a person to go broke. I am eternally grateful for any help.
