All-Female Crew Sets Sail for the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac!

On July 13th, Moxie: Women's Offshore Racing, the only all-female crew since 1999, and only the 5th all-female crew in the competition's 130 year history, will take to the waters of Lake Michigan for the Chicago to Mackinac race.

What sets this crew apart is not just their sailing prowess but also their shared mission: to make a positive impact for women in sports and encourage and uplift the next generation of sailors.

We are deeply grateful for your support and generosity as we embark on this journey. It is with immense appreciation that we invite you to follow along as we prepare, practice, and raise funds for the race.

The anticipated costs for the race are around $10,000 which includes entry fees, equipment and training required for the crew, required safety and personal tracking updates on the boat, adding AIS technology, installing more powerful COAX cables, etc. The crew has hosted multiple fundraisers including Bingo Night and Car Wash at Bayshore Yacht Club, a Happy hour at The Curragh Irish Pub, team gear sales, and door prizes, which have proven to show just how amazing our community is.

After the thrills of fundraising activities, which we are eternally grateful for, we are still eager to raise the second half of our goal - $5,000.
