Support Allison whose dog died a senseless death

(Everyone’s generosity is to be celebrated - we are beyond grateful for this amazing support right now! We’ve decided to increase our goal as it is imperative that Jane Allison find a safer place to live)….
My name is Kate, and along with a group of friends, we are inviting you to help a dear friend and neighbor in need whose dog has died. Jane Allison Gunn endured a senseless tragedy just last week when her neighbor violently shot Jane Allison's dog Minerva - a sweet, young, friendly dog and most playful companion. Jane Allison has already had her share of challenges because of a recent layoff from her job as a copy editor and writer. Now, relying on a meager income she earns from being an amazing tutor to many DeKalb students, she needs our help to cover veterinary, crematory and now legal costs associated with her neighbor's violent behavior.
On the morning of August 15, Jane Allison's sweet pup Minerva ran from the front door of her home as they welcomed another friend for a visit. At that point, the neighbor fired her handgun at Minerva and fatally shot the dog, who is not a threatening animal by any means.
Now, as Jane Allison grapples with the shock and trauma of the loss of one of her beloved companion animals, she needs help from our community like never before. Your support will contribute to Jane Allison's healing, as well as give Jane Allison the courage to deal with the aftermath of her neighbor's terrible choice to use gun violence against an innocent creature. You can provide a great deal of hope to Jane Allison while supporting her efforts to find a safer place to live. It also will help us remember sweet Minerva who tragically died too young. Thank you for showing great compassion in this difficult time.
