Support Ally and Grant After Baby Roman's Loss

Ally was admitted to the hospital on 12/11/24 after an ultrasound showed some concerns for the baby's well-being. After 10+ days of being continuously monitored, multiple tests, procedures, and ultrasounds, her care team made the decision to deliver the baby after exhausting all efforts to keep him in the womb.

Roman Jay Friendshuh entered the world on December 21st, 2024, at just 27 weeks and 1 day, weighing in at 1 lb. 8 oz. and 13 inches long, sharing a birthday with Ally's mom.

Roman was having a rough start in the NICU. Just when we thought things were going in the right direction, other things weren’t. Grant and Ally attended every single daily meeting with their wonderful care team while spending hours and days by Roman’s side.

With all of the information given to them during this time and what was discovered about their sweet, strong boy, they made the extremely difficult decision, alongside his care team, to stop care and spend the day holding Roman rather than causing him additional pain and hindering his quality of life.

On December 31st, just 10 days old, their little fighter joined Ally's mom in Heaven. Roman passed peacefully in mom and dad’s arms. They gave hugs and kisses, read him stories, sang to him, talked with him, and made sure he had the best day possible. His brother Elijah was also able to spend time with him and say goodbye.

Ally, Grant, and Elijah have suffered an unimaginable loss with the recent passing of sweet baby boy, Roman Jay. While we cannot take away their pain, we can help this young, loving family with the many financial burdens they now face.
