Support Ally's Healing Journey After Tragedy
Donation protected
On Saturday, July 13, 2024, Ally and Marcus Giesen, high-school sweethearts and newlyweds from Belle Plaine, Minnesota, now building their dream life together living in California, were in a terrible one car accident on their way to a getaway in Yosemite National Park. Tragically, Marcus and the couple's beloved dog, Sky, were killed in the accident. Ally was critically injured; she is now stable and is being treated at Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia, California. She is receiving care for a skull fracture and small, but stable brain bleed, along with broken/fractured bones in her right arm, wrist, hand, neck, back, and face.
In addition to the heartache of losing her life partner, Ally is facing a long recovery to be made physically whole again. As if these devastating tasks have not been enough to navigate, the process is made more difficult by the fact that not only is Ally being treated hundreds of miles from her and Marcus' home near Los Angeles, their parents, Robin (Duffney) & Matt Fink and Nicole (Wallat) & Dan Giesen, have traveled nearly 2,000 miles from their home state of Minnesota to be there to support Ally, all while grieving the loss of Marcus.
Due to the overwhelming factors that complicate this heartbreaking situation, and anticipating the financial strain that both Ally and the families will face due to the loss of income, time off work, travel, and the extraordinary logistical challenge due to being so far from home, collecting donations by way of GoFundMe seems the most practical and appropriate way to help support these humble and amazing souls. All monies raised will be to assist Ally in healing and rebuilding her physical and emotional health, as she grieves the loss of her world. We hope to make it easier for Ally and her support system by our generous gifts. By relieving them of part of the challenge that lies ahead, the focus can be on Ally's healing and well-being.
Many, many kind and loving wishes and offers of support have been received by the family. It is not without deep and prayerful thought that financial donations have been determined to be the most helpful way to assist at this time. This funding page has been approved by them, and on behalf of the Fink and Giesen families, we thank you for your generous support.
