Support Carmen and Altyn After the Tragic Loss of Their Son

On Monday, October 21, 2024, our family was struck by an unimaginable tragedy. My sister, brother-in-law, and niece will forever be impacted by the day’s events. Carmen and my nephew Altyn (also known as Bubbs or Tintin) were involved in a devastating collision on Highway 18 caused by a drunk driver. Tragically, baby Altyn lost his life in the crash, and Carmen suffered multiple broken bones and fractures.

While pinned in the vehicle after the crash, Carmen was able to call Altyn (whom little Altyn was named after), who rushed to the scene to see his family. He has been at her bedside ever since, as she receives treatment at Harborview Medical Center.

During this heartbreaking time, we are caring for their 10-year-old daughter, Sierra, while Carmen focuses on recovering and Altyn supports her through this unimaginable loss.

We are asking for support to help cover the following expenses:

• Funeral and Memorial Costs: Although the details are still being arranged, the costs of saying goodbye to baby Altyn are significant.

• Medical Expenses: Carmen is facing a long road to recovery, requiring surgeries and ongoing rehabilitation.

• Lost Wages: Both Carmen and Altyn are unable to work while they focus on grieving and healing.

• Rent and Living Expenses: We want to ensure that they don’t have to worry about living expenses as they take time to recover physically and emotionally.
