Support Alyce Moore's Chemo and Hospitalization

Alyce Moore (65) started retaining fluid to legs/abdomen in early September, when she went to urgent care/walk in on Sept 6th her doctor ran some labs which were unremarkable. He stated fluid could be stress related so she left without resolution.

Meanwhile at home, her significant other (Doug Lee) was suffering from a compression fracture he obtained from a fall a few weeks prior. Doug was and is unable to do any bending/twisting and is required to wear a brace at all times. This put an increase of stress on Alyce as she was his primary caretaker during this time. She was very stressed due to Doug's condition and his inability to work or help with daily household tasks. Her increase in stress lined up with what doctors were saying and she did her best to manage her stress.

But 3 weeks went by and Alyce's fluid retention was only getting worse so she went back to the walk-in. This time an ultrasound was completed of her abdomen and multiple spots were noted on her liver. During this trip to the walk in they also noted her potassium was low. She was admitted for the night to replace her potassium and have a biopsy done of her liver. Unfortunately, the biopsy results came back as small cell lung cancer that had metastasized to the liver. What we thought was fluid in her abdomen is actually her enlarged liver.

Next step was to consult with Oncology. She attended this consult on October 3rd and the Oncologist informed her and her family that without treatment she would have 2 weeks to live. She was immediately admitted to the hospital that day to start chemo treatments. When she went into the hospital she was under the impression she would be there until at least Monday.

The latest update since Alyce has been admitted in the hospital is that that the cancer has also metastasized to her brain. She is currently in the hospital.

Alyce is unable to return to work. We have set up this GoFundMe to help with chemo/hospitalization costs with both Alyce and Doug not being able to work at this time. Their only priority should be getting better, being comfortable, and spending time with close friends and family.

If you are able, anything will help while this family quickly adapts to this new diagnosis and work to get Alyce whatever she needs to get through this comfortably.

If you are uncomfortable donating money online, please reach out to [email redacted] or text [phone redacted] and I will help arrange checks and cash to be added to their fund.

Thank you for stopping by and for your support of Alyce, Doug, and their family during this difficult time. Alyce is a strong woman and has a great support system! We are all sending her all of our love!
