Hello everyone,

My name is Alyssa Martin, and I'm on a brave journey towards recovery from alcohol and marijuana addiction. At 34 years old, I've recently celebrated 13 days of sobriety—a milestone I haven't reached in 17 years. For over a decade, the stress of my career in the fashion industry, the trauma of being ostracized and bullied out of high school resulting in losing all my friends, the trauma of being assaulted and harassed by a roommate, led me down a path of heavy substance use, impacting my job, relationships, and ultimately causing me to lose everything, including my beloved pets and my home.

After hitting rock bottom, I found myself living in my car and then in a crisis center for women. With the support of my family and determination to turn my life around, I've been accepted into an outpatient treatment program in Laguna Hills. However, finding a sober living environment that fits within my insurance coverage and aligns with my treatment schedule has been challenging.

I've located a suitable sober living facility near my treatment program, costing $720 per month. While I'm grateful for the support from CalFresh and Medi-Cal for transportation, I am seeking additional assistance to cover the costs and relieve the financial strain on my family, especially with my father battling cancer.
