Support Alyssa Nelson

On July 17, 2023, Alyssa was involved in a very horrific car accident, which resulted in her being airlifted to a Trauma One hospital. Sadly, her accident was caused by a young man who was carelessly driving recklessly and speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour. Her injuries are extremely serious and Alyssa has a very long road ahead of her. She remained in ICU for the first 5 weeks following the accident and had already had 6 surgeries in the first 16 days after the accident and will need more in the future. She developed pneumonia on top of all of her other injuries, which she has finally recovered from. Now nearly a month later, the amount of damage (especially long term) is unknown. Over 3 weeks ago, the doctors took her off the sedation medications as being sedated for too long can do more harm than good. Sadly, at this point over 8 weeks since the accident, Ally has still not regained consciousness. Her family and friends are praying for her to have a full recovery and be healthy. It breaks my heart to know that her future is still unknown. Alyssa is a fighter but her and her family need all the prayers, love and support they can get.

The hospital she was moved to last week is over 2-1/2 hours from her home. Alyssa's father has been driving back and forth to care for their dog, while also trying to be at the hospital for Ally. Both of her parents have been out of work for almost 2 months and will likely be for several more months. Alyssa will need long term care if and when she is released from the hospital. We are hoping that friends and family will be willing to donate which will help them with bills, necessities, travel expenses and the endless medical bills they may face.
