Alyssa Olguín Martinez, wife of Ramon Martinez and daughter of Richard and Stel Benavides was involved in a horrific automobile accident on Saturday, February 20th.  Alyssa was transported to Parkland Hospital where she remains in serious condition. As a result of the accident, Alyssa lost her right leg below the knee.  Doctors are working diligently to save the knee and have performed 3 surgeries with another surgery to follow next week.  Alyssa will endure a grueling recovery and will have to learn to adapt with a significant disability.  She and her family have a long road ahead and remain focused on the best case outcome.
