Help Support Amanda and Nick Kowalski

Early June, Amanda went in for what was supposed to be a routine hip surgery, but it turned for the worst. She endured a ruptured artery, significant loss of blood, multiple procedures, and ultimately lost a limb to save her life. While there was a significant loss, Amanda, Nick, and their entire family remain focused on how to positively move forward from this extremely unfortunate event.

 

While we truly appreciate all the support from family, friends, work, and colleagues, the work is NOT finished. It has just begun. The road ahead for the Kowalski family is a very difficult one. As a stay-at-home mom, Amanda’s life will be drastically different and require support due to rising costs associated with childcare and treating her health conditions. As a single income household, Nick primarily worked, but has now been on an indefinite leave to support Amanda, and the family, while she is in recovery, which is ongoing.

 

Medical insurance is not designed to cover the substantial costs and accommodations that will be needed for Amanda and her family. As Amanda said best, “I AM HERE AND IM ALIVE.” We are truly grateful that she is with us, but the future will undoubtedly be with challenges and any amount of additional financial support will help the Kowalski family live life fully.
