Support Amanda, Danny & Halston Schroder

As friends and family of Amanda and Danny I know we have all been looking for ways to show our support and love as they find their way through this journey with their unborn daughter Halston.

Amanda and Danny have fought hard to get where they are in their fertility journey. After two unsuccessful rounds of IVF they were prepared to begin the process with an egg donor but as miracles would have it- Amanda was pregnant!

At their routine anatomy ultrasound, they were presented with the news that Halston had an extremely rare condition called Bilateral Renal Agenesis (BRA)- missing both of her kidneys.

After meeting with multiple doctors who told Amanda and Danny their little girl wouldn’t survive, they sought answers and a plan to defeat the odds presented to them. Through their research, they learned of a doctor in Omaha, Nebraska who performs amniotic fluid infusions. These treatments have saved the lives of many babies with BRA by infusing the mother's uterus with the amniotic fluid the baby is unable to create for themselves in the absence of kidneys.

Within days Amanda and Danny got on a plane and quickly received their first life-saving treatment in the middle of February.

The story is just beginning for this favorite little family we all know and love. They will need weekly treatments and will be relocating to Dallas to receive the best care for both Amanda and Halston until birth. This ultimately means Amanda will also be out of work on a leave of absence.

Once Halston is delivered she will be in the NICU on dialysis for what is estimated as six months to a year while she waits for a kidney transplant.

There are a lot of unknowns for the Schroders on this road they are on. What I know for sure is none of us want them to worry financially as they pursue the best treatment for their family and relocate their lives to do so.
