Support Amity’s Courageous Cancer Battle

Amity has been struggling with ongoing health issues since having Covid at the end of November. She has been in and out of the hospital with continuous testing and imaging to try to get to the bottom of her symptoms. On Thursday (December 30th) she began experiencing severe body and chest pain. The following Monday she was admitted to Mayo Clinic. Upon admission, they began more testing and imaging. They found a large mass in her chest. The mass combined with abnormal blood work, prompted them to do a PET scan. The PET scan showed abnormal cells throughout her body, specifically her bones, lymph nodes, liver, and in the mass that was initially seen. They are currently waiting for results of a bone marrow biopsy to understand the specific type and origin of the cancer, but it has been confirmed as a stage 4 cancer. Once they receive the full pathology report, they can begin a treatment plan. She will be staying at Mayo Clinic for the near future.
