Hi, my name is Monique Wimberly, and I am founder and executive director of Amma's Academy Inc. a non-profit organization. Amma's Academy Incorporated Mission is Bridging the Gap: We believe that every family in our community between poverty stricken and middle-class needs and deserves free quality childcare, preschool, before and after school care to grow and thrive. Amma's Peaceful Pathways is a program birthed from the Academy for youth ages 6yrs-12yrs.
Our program is dedicated to providing children aged 6 to 12 years and their families with essential youth mental health resources, materials, workshops, and presentations. Amma's Peaceful Pathways will offer resources including information on free or low-cost mental health care, assessments, workshops, training, and presentations led by state-certified youth mental health therapists. We aim to create a secure environment through therapeutic activities and mentoring suitable for the age group, helping at-risk youth address mental health issues in a supportive, non-judgmental setting that fosters peace and presents alternatives to violence. This initiative educates young individuals on managing negative emotions and resolving conflicts within themselves and their communities.
The funds will be allocated to mentor and educate participants, ensuring they receive the most beneficial healing experience from our program. Specifically, the funds will cover transportation costs, therapeutic equipment and activities, meals and snacks, rental of a secure space for the program, and other necessary supplies, printing, and materials to ensure the program's success.
