Support Amy Jo’s Knee Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jaylena and I have created this fundraiser to help my dear friend, Amy Jo Thompson. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Amy for 3 years now and have built such an amazing friendship with her. Anyone that knows Amy, knows just how amazing and truly special she is. Since her injury, I have wanted to help in anyway I could and with as many people that have reached out to her, thought this would be a great outlet for support in this time of need. We thank you sincerely for for your consideration.
Amy’s Story:
About a month ago, Amy Jo started to feel that something may not be right with her knee. Especially after having a knee injury in the past, she knew that she was possibly on the brink of another. However, one of Amy’s 4 kids, Ambren, lives in Tennessee and Amy, along with her daughter Kayla, had planned a trip to visit the week of March 18th. Knowing this vacation to spend time with her children was coming up very quickly, Amy had gone to see her doctor at Reliant to know what steps would be best to take in the coming days. She was advised to have a steroid shot to help her manage the pain, and get through the week for her trip, so Amy obliged.
Unfortunately, the day after her steroid shot, Amy was on her way to work when she felt the pop in her knee. At this moment, the first tragedy hit because Amy knew that something was severely wrong as she was not able to get up or walk. The second tragedy hit once Amy realized that her long-planned trip to visit her kids and grandkids was going to have to be cancelled. Amy values every single minute and moment spent with her children, as 3 of the 4 live out of state. This was absolutely heartbreaking for everyone around Amy to watch as she had been looking forward to this trip for months, with meals planned, experiences to be had, and memories to be made with the people that matter most to her.
On March 27th, the doctor called back with Amy’s results from her MRI. They confirmed that her meniscus was completely torn and there is also a cyst behind her kneecap. The very unfortunate circumstance amidst all of this is that Amy does not have medical insurance. As Amy is doing her best to remain in a positive mindset and rely on her faith in God, the reminder of the financial burden this will put on her is still lingering. Amy is a single mother of 4 children and is still supporting 2 of her boys that are chasing their dreams of playing college baseball. Amy has many friends and people within the community that have already reached out with concern and have asked what steps can they take to help. Any amount donated towards this fund would go to all medical expenses — the MRI, the surgery including anesthesia, and post surgery recovery that may include Physical Therapy. At this current time, Amy is meeting with NW Orthopedic on Tuesday, April 2nd for her full consultation and scheduling of surgery.
We appreciate any and every donation that go towards this fund for Amy. She is beyond deserving and has touched so many people in our community through her generosity, caring nature and overall love for those around her. Thank you sincerely for the support. I will supply updates on Amy’s injury and surgery as they come.

Any and all prayers for Amy’s healing will also be appreciated. We trust that the Lord will provide during this time and will take care of her, as He promises to all those that believe in Him.
