Help the Blea Family after Losing Home to Eaton Canyon Fire

Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues of the Blea Fam,

The devastation in the wake of LA’s destructive wildfire rampage has left thousands of families with homes leveled and just the clothes on their backs.

The sheer need is overwhelming, and we are having to appeal to friends, family, and even strangers for financial help in such a vulnerable time.

I am taking that baton for a friend, Amy Blea, whose family has become one of the statistics when her precious home in Altadena was burned to the ground on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025.

We met Amy as students of her free Maker’s Space classes at Central Library. She has been generous with her time and resources to teach valuable creative skills to countless community members of the Library in Glendale, as well as teach at a Pasadena art college. Many of us in the community, like myself (Jean Flores) and Sarah Kang, have been recipients of her free knowledge and expertise, so it’s time for our community to now come around her family in this desperate time of need.

By now, we all know someone who’s been affected, so it’s with humility that we ask for your consideration to help someone that you may or may not know personally. No amount of giving is too small, and everything will be greatly appreciated. This will just scratch the surface for their path ahead, but hopefully it will provide some breathing room as they start to navigate this overwhelming process. The money received will be used to take care of immediate physical and emotional needs for their family and furbaby. Thank you in advance for helping us get Amy, Matt, Calvin and Pearl back on their feet.
