In December this year, I’m setting out on a remarkable journey to traverse 400 kilometers from the coast of Antarctica, through the stunning Ellsworth mountain range, and ultimately summit Mt. Vinson, the tallest peak in Antarctica at 4,892 meters. This isn’t just a personal challenge; it’s an incredible achievement for an everyday Australian like me, as I aim to reach this summit from the sea, in one of the harshest environments on Earth. This expedition has only been done once before, by another Australian team in 2007, and I'm proud to repeat this feat.
What makes this expedition even more meaningful is my partnership with Dr. Wolfgang Rack and climate scientists from the University of Canterbury. with their support, I will collect crucial climate data that will enhance our understanding of climate change and its impacts on our planet. By supporting this journey, you’re not just contributing to an adventure; you’re playing a vital role in scientific data collection that contributes to their research in understand the changing environment.
Your generosity will help cover the costs of this expedition, allowing me to focus on both the exploration and the research we aim to conduct. Together, we can make a lasting impact—thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!
