support an orphan in Sudan

Hi, my name is Marilyn and I recently graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) Child & Youth Care Program. I can't celebrate this achievement without contributing meaningfully to children living abroad who need support and help. This is why I have chosen to sponsor an orphan living in Sudan who has recently lost his father.

Mohamed is a 4-year-old boy living in Sudan with his mother. After recently losing his father to war and illness, Mohamed’s access to his basic needs has decreased drastically. Mohamed does not attend school and is living in a short-term residence, unable to grieve the loss of his father. With support from the Islamic Relief Fund, I send Mohamed financial support every month until he turns 18, but I would love your help and support in raising money to help Mohamed and his mother find better shelter and easier access to food and water.

Since Mohamed is a minor & living in a dangerous environment, I have chosen not to reveal his face to protect him and his mother. Below is a photo showing my association with the Islamic Relief Fund, where your donations will go.

The Islamic Relief Fund (IRF) allows me a direct connection with Mohamed to communicate, send gifts, receive updates, and establish a trustworthy connection. In Sudan, agents and workers of the IRF facilitate this connection and are responsible for ensuring the money I send to Mohamed, his mother, and the person from IRF supports this relationship. Once this GoFundMe closes, I will be sure to show updates & proof of this donation.

I am a Syrian woman who understands and experiences the struggles that the Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) region faces. It is impossible to celebrate my graduation without thinking of those back home. My advocacy and love transcends borders, and I hope yours will too.
