Support and Empower Migrant Girls through Soccer

My name is Taw Bee. Growing up in a male-dominated sport like soccer, I often faced discouragement as a girl wanting to play. Now, having had the opportunity to pursue my passion, I want to help shift this narrative for the next generation by creating opportunities for girls to feel confident, strong, and capable through sports.
In many refugee communities, like those at Thoo Mweh Khee and New Jerusalem Children's Home, girls often have limited access to sports. The boys dominate the fields, resources for equipment are scarce, and societal stereotypes and expectations often discourage girls from even picking up a ball. However, there is a growing interest among the female students, and with the right support, we can encourage them to participate and show them that soccer is a space where they belong.
My vision is to provide these girls with a safe, supportive space where they can not only play but also develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. To make this vision a reality, I am working to raise $3,000 to fund a girls' soccer program at Thoo Mweh Khee and at New Jerusalem Children’s Home. This will cover essential training equipment such as soccer balls, cones, goals, and pennies, as well as training shirts, cleats, and rental fees for a weekly practice field. These resources will allow us to host regular training sessions and give the girls a consistent opportunity to practice and improve.
With your support, we can help break down barriers and provide these girls with the tools they need to thrive, both on and off the field. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can show these girls that they have a place in sports, and help them build the confidence to succeed in all areas of their lives.
