Support and help the Loveday family

The Lovedays is the perfect name when thinking of this family in need right now. Steve and Janine have shared their love with one another and so many others over the years. It’s time they need lots of love , support and prayer. Steve was diagnosed with tongue cancer in October 2022. He underwent surgery at that time to have the cancerous portion removed from the right side of his tongue as well as 29 lymph nodes. He then underwent radiation. His recovery was complicated due to illness and infection, but he was declared cancer-free in March. However, the joy was short-lived because he began having symptoms again. In May his scans showed that the cancer was now on the left side of his tongue as well as in his jaw and more lymph nodes. On June 13 he underwent an 18 hour surgery to remove all the cancer as well as to reconstruct his jaw and mouth. A portion of skin and bone was taken from his arm to reconstruct his jaw and a skin graft was taken from his leg to cover his arm. He had a tracheostomy and a feeding tube. Though he never lost his fighting spirit, his recovery was extremely complicated and painful. He endured three more emergency surgeries. This week he had more complications and learned that the cancer has just continued to grow and spread. Steve is now in hospice care and is unresponsive. He is only 45 years old.
Steve and Janine have been together for 30 years, since they were 15 years old, and married for 23 years. They have three kids-Emma is 19 and attends Grand Valley where she is going to school to be a physician’s assistant. Bria is 17 and will be starting her senior year of high school in a few weeks. Noah is 13 and in 8th grade. Steve loved his family more than anything and he devoted his life to taking care of them
