The recent Quota protests in Bangladesh have highlighted the dire need for support and protection for students who are at the forefront of these movements. As the unrest continues, many students have become targets, suffering injuries and facing significant threats to their safety and well-being.
The Urgent Need:
In the wake of the violent crackdown on protests, at least 174 people have lost their lives, and more than 2,500 have been arrested. Many of these individuals are students who were advocating for fair and just policies. With tensions still high and the possibility of further attacks looming, it is crucial to provide immediate and long-term support to these brave individuals.
One of the most urgent issues is the need for medical treatment for students who have sustained serious injuries. Among the more than 2,000 injured students, eye injuries have become a critical concern. Over 300 students have been identified with eye issues, and more than 50 are already blind or on the verge of blindness. These young people require immediate and specialized medical attention to prevent further deterioration and to save their sight.
In addition, there are countless students who have been seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment in various medical facilities across Bangladesh. These students urgently need funds for their ongoing medical care and rehabilitation.
Our Mission:
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to create a fund dedicated to helping students who have been injured or are at risk of future attacks. Our mission is to provide financial assistance for medical expenses, cover funeral costs for those who have tragically lost their lives, and offer relief to affected families. Additionally, we aim to implement protective measures to ensure the safety of students in the future.
