Continued Support & Relief for Asheville and Marshall NC

My name is Andy Steinmann.

My wife Sheila and I are on a mission to provide relief and supplies to the citizens of Western, NC specifically those in the Asheville and Marshall, NC communities and beyond.

We have our cabins and property in Marshall, and we have the good fortune of having had our power restored. This is now the center of our universe and our own command center for providing the much needed relief to the surrounding community.

For the last 4 weeks we have been shuttling supplies to our cabin and distributing those supplies out to those who need them most. We have met so many amazing people and have made incredible connections with those that are making a huge impact in this ongoing recovery effort.

This is going to be a long road and one that will extend for the months and years ahead, long after the media coverage has disappeared.

The people in this region need help and need it now. Cold weather is coming and there are so many people without a roof over their head, much less life's essentials such as food and water.

The list of supplies that are needed has evolved and will continue to evolve.

The list of needs is staggering. We have made multiple weekly runs with supplies and the contents of each load have been so different.

We met the goals of our initial Go Fund Me and raised over $12,000.00. That money has been spent on everything from chainsaws and generators to hundreds of quarts of soup to respirators. All of these supplies have been snapped up and have helped dozens and dozens of needy folks.

The stories we have heard need to be told and heard. Our job is just beginning. Our outreach is just beginning. The heavy lifting is just beginning.

We have been offering up access to our property for those who may need a place to stay, to wash their clothes, to take a hot shower, and to get a warm meal. So many people have cycled through here and have had a moment to reset, to get clean, to get fed, and to boost their dignity.
