On Sunday, September 8 2024, our friend Nya was stalked, harassed, and attacked by a stranger while on a run. This person left her with three gunshot wounds and a broken bone, fleeing the scene with her phone, which she was using to call 911. In that moment she was able to flag down a kind stranger who helped her get an ambulance and she is currently in the hospital recovering from this act of violence.
Nya is a historian, animal lover, and “track-star” who usually runs 5 miles per day. She credits her ability to heal from this experience to her physical fitness and unbroken spirit. Nya is an incredibly kind, intelligent, and brave person who will not allow one person’s senseless brutality to diminish her light.
Nya Harrison is so important to all of us. She brings so much joy and talent to this world. We want to see her keep doing all the things she loves.
