Support Andrew's Recovery from Hit and Run

On the evening of Monday, September 2, 2024 (Labor Day), my beloved life partner Andrew (who many of you know as the guitarist of the bands Airiel and New Canyons) was the victim of a hit and run. He was struck by a car while he was using the crosswalk, which ran over his foot and knocked him to the ground before driving off.

Kind witnesses of the accident helped Andrew call for an ambulance and he was rushed to the nearest hospital.

He visited the doctor on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, where a CT scan and x-rays were conducted. This confirmed that the middle bones of his right foot are broken. The one closest to the big toe has a fracture. The other ones are broken close to the small bones in the middle of the foot and are displaced. He will have to have surgery, to place plates and screws in his foot.

The surgery will hopefully take place within the next 2 weeks and Andrew is currently waiting to be cleared by a general practitioner for anesthesia. Once the surgery is completed, he can expect to be off his foot for 4-6 weeks, then a boot with limited mobility and weight bearing after that.

We are also seeking a lawyer to pursue the individual who struck Andrew and are currently awaiting any video footage that is available from the intersection cameras.

As we don’t currently have a health insurance plan due to recent life changes, the surgery is going to cost us out of pocket.
